Get untangled:
Have you ever noticed that part of you really wants to get started on something, but another part just can’t seem to?
Or that one part is excited to try something new, while another worries it might not go well, cost too much, or you'll quit?
That’s not a flaw. It’s simply how we’re built.
We all have different parts within us. We have inner voices, values, feelings, and motivations that each have their own purpose. One part might want to rest, another might push you to keep going. One might feel hopeful, while another feels uncertain.
This idea is called multiplicity: the understanding that our mind naturally has many sides, and each one has something to share. It’s not a sign that something’s wrong; it’s how we make sense of our experiences. It's how we cope with life's challenges.
In coaching, we can get to know these parts with curiosity instead of judgment. The parts that criticize, avoid, or take over with worry often carry good intentions, they’re trying to protect us from disappointment or hurt. When they feel understood, not pushed away or fixed, they naturally relax.
What once felt like an 8 on the stress scale might drop to a 2, or even to calm.
That shift makes space for clarity, compassion, and more choice about how you want to move forward.
You might notice more ease and self-trust as these parts begin to work together instead of against each other. Life feels lighter when the inner tug-of-war quiets down.
